The Direboar Captive

After several attempts at pacifying the raging beast (Initially tossing a dead hyena at it to dispel its aggression; then approaching it making soothing sounds while taking a non-aggressive stance, i.e. allowing the beast to smell ones palms; then the healing of its many wounds), it finally calms down, licking the outstretched hands of its would-be saviors. The stakes are then pulled and the chains removed, freeing it. The party notices a leather strap about its neck with the insignia of the Deep Gem Company — one of the many merchant houses in the Seven-pillared Hall. Free and well now, the dire boar looks about with intelligent eyes, then saunter merrily off through the double doors the group came in from, leaving. It seemed to know exactly where it was going. The party look at each other and laugh.

There are two other exits from this room, one where the fleeing gnoll went through and the other, near the corner where the boar was staked. Both seem to go out the same (north/south) corridor. The party takes the boar-side door and follow the passage north. This exploration turns up nothing of interest and the party backtracks to the south.
