About Us

Manfred’s Marauders is a gaming group based in Quezon City, Philippines. It was initially founded in 1992 by a small group of college students then studying at the University of the Philippines, Diliman. Although it’s composition has changed much over the nearly two decades since then, it has managed to maintain a more or less regular schedule of gaming sessions over the same period.

MM mainly plays the Dungeons & Dragons RPG — and has played through the Basic set, AD&D, Second Edition, 3rd Ed, 3.5 Ed, and is currently using the 4th Ed rules. MM has also occasionally run games using other RPG rulesets such as Shadowrun, Alternity, and Call of Cthulhu. Apart from RPGs, MM members also play various boardgames ranging from hardcore wargames such as Axis and Allies and Game of Thrones, fantasy-themed tabletop adventures such as Descent: Journeys in the Dark and Lord of the Rings, classics such as Monopoly and Risk, horror/exploration games such as Betrayal on House on the Hill, resource management games such as Settlers of Catan, and party games like Taboo and Scattergories.

Manfred’s Marauders is named after an AD&D character, the arrogant and self-righteous cavalier Ser Manfred von Nethereich, whose indomitable will and peerless swordarm saw the group through the various perils, conflicts, and challenges in the first five years of its existence. Ser Manfred has long since passed on into the realm of D&D legend, but his legacy lives on to this day, and hopefully, in the years to come.
